What an Open Championship! It had everything for everbody. Amazing golf on an amazing golf course. The emotional highs and lows of a great and proud golfing nation and a deserving if maybe somewhat unanticipated winner in Shane Lowry.

Watching Shane Lowry win the 148th Open Championship for me will remain one of my life long feel good sporting stories. Everybody hoped he had it in him, form sugested he had it in him and maybe just maybe once Shane believed he had it in him, well the rest as the say....is now written in Irish golf folklore.

Congrats big man. You are The Champion Golfer of The Year.
